Why cupping bowls and not ordinary bowls?
During cupping, you compare coffees side by side, and everything must be equal except for the coffee itself. These Rhino Coffee Gear cupping bowls all have the same shape and capacity, so the water cools at the same rate in each bowl, and the crust forms in the same way. If you use random mugs, you mainly compare differences between your mugs.
The process is simple. Pour the same amount of freshly ground coffee into each bowl, pour hot water over, wait four minutes, and break the crust using the spoon while smelling. Scoop off the foam and taste once the coffee is warm; at this temperature, sweetness and acidity become most apparent.
