About this coffee
Kenya washed (harvest 2026) On Tuesdays, and also on other days, I like to give myself and others around me a dilemma. So here’s what I came up with: you either have to drink a strawberry-matcha-latte next to every cup of Kenya for the rest of your life. Or, you can never drink Kenya ever again. Now, while the thought of never ever drinking Kenya ever again horrifies me to my bones, the thought of having to drink a strawberry-mmma… no there’s just no way. Luckily, I didn’t have to choose so I continued with introducing our latest Kenya-arrival. It’s from the Kirinyaga region, located on the south slopes of mount Kenya. Smallholders pick their cherries at 1700-1800 masl and deliver to the Kiangoi Coffee Factory which is part of the Rung’eto Farmers cooperative society. The varieties used are SL28 and SL34 and the coffee is fully washed. It’s imported by Nordic Approach, where we usually get a lot of our Kenyan coffees from. In the cup you will get a bright and sweet coffee with a punchy acidity. It has a juicy and syrupy texture with some molasses and flavors of lemon tea, rhubarb, apricots and blackberries in the finish
