About this coffee

Welcome to Los Campos!

At Los Campos farm, owned by Don Alexis Coffee, specialty coffee is carefully cultivated at an elevation of 1750 meters. The Ramirez-Navarro family's dedication makes this coffee unique, honoring their history while looking to the future. Not only is the coffee carefully cultivated, but it is also processed.

This coffee undergoes an extended black honey process. Flavor notes of vanilla, mango, and cloves can be tasted, combined with a soft, sweet finish and a full body. Coffee that shines equally well as espresso or filter.

But what exactly does the black honey process entail? First, ripe berries are hand-picked, then rested for 24 hours. They are then de-pulped, allowing as much fruit flesh to remain around the coffee beans. The beans are then dried for about 25 days on African Beds (which are woven mats on a base, allowing for adequate airflow around the beans). This process requires meticulous care and attention, but yields a complex, sweet coffee with a full body.

We are proud to offer this coffee from Don Alexis!
