About this coffee
Guatemala – Vecino de Perez
The grinding of this coffee reveals an aroma of cookies, chocolate, and light floral notes. In the cup, it offers a full, balanced body with dark chocolate and figs, supported by a sugary sweetness. The finish is clean with a hint of cocoa-bitterness. Its medium roast profile makes it especially suitable for espresso, cappuccino, and pour-over.

Origin story
This coffee comes from a smallholder in Aldea El Socorro, in the Acatenango valley. The farm is near Finca Palestina of Joël Perez. We acquired this lot through Joël, with whom we have established a good rapport. Joël himself is the producer of our excellent Guatemala Gesha, which is shipped by sea to Europe in the same cargo. The name Vecino de Perez means literally: neighbor of (Joël) Perez.
The surroundings around Aldea El Socorro lie on the slopes of the Acatenango and Fuego volcanoes. The volcanic soils are constantly replenished with minerals from the Fuego eruptions, which are almost continuously active at a short distance. Combined with the strong day-night temperature differences, this terroir provides the basis for the coffee from this area.
