About this coffee
Under the guiding leadership of Victor Robelo, Finca Santa Maria grew from 17 hectares in 2017 to nearly 35 hectares. It is part of Grupo Las Nubes and one of the seven farms in the Matagalpa and Jinotega region. The farm is located in La Reserva El Arenal, which allows the coffee to grow in the shade of the forest. The farm has been in the family since 2011. Victor himself is the third generation in his family to own coffee farms since 1937. The family's properties faced difficult times during the conflict, when they were forced to leave their land. Since then, however, he has bought back and restored his father's farms with the goal of producing high-quality coffee. When he won the Cup of Excellence in 2017, he attributed the ongoing success to the team with whom he works.
Perfectly balanced coffee with medium to smooth body. The mild to clear acidity goes hand in hand with a sharp, fruity, and clearly defined taste. You will taste flavors such as sweet caramel, red fruit, and chocolate, while the coffee itself has a very pleasant, balanced, and slightly bitter taste.
